Well, it's not quite as sexy as last year's costume, but here are a few pics of my halloween costume this year:

Yes, even supervillains must enjoy a nice slice of pizza now and then...

In 1989, the year the first Batman came out, I went as the Joker as well... Jack Nicholson style. (I had a lot shorter hair then.) I was 12 years old and in 7th grade. And I remember coming home with my mouth hurting because I had tried to not stop smiling all day long :) So this year feels like I've really completed some kind of circle, by going as the Heath Ledger Joker.

Alphabetically, this makes the sequence for the last 5 years: Z Z V V J. And I seem to be more prone to playing villains than heros... hmmm. A girl I knew at Georgia Tech once said to someone while giggling and pointing at me like a little puppy dog "The funny thing about Jeff is that he would *love* to be evil if he could. But he can't!" At the time it made me feel humiliated and small... like I wanted to prove her wrong, either by demonstrating how truly evil I was, or by denying that I wanted to be evil. But the funny thing is, the more life experience I have, the more I realize she was *so* right about me :)

Since I only met you the one time, this is the only way that I'm aware of you looking. :)

And *laugh* re. the photo... Okay, I just put a couple of puzzle pieces together. :) Anyway, yay -- it looks like a great time!

OH MY GOD. your costume is so awesome. I saw about 15 jokers when i went out Halloween night and none of them even come close to this. it looks professional!

you've inspired me to post pics of my halloween costume. (=

Thanks... I enjoyed your recent "post-mortem" photos, but none of them actually reminded me of death, just resting/sleeping.

did you see the real post mortem pics i linked to? some of them were obvious, but in most of them, they were meant to look like sleeping pics. i think it's very interesting.

oh, I guess I hadn't. Apparently, post mortem photography isn't about death... it's just a particular style?

i mean, it is the photography of actually dead people. but the point wasn't to emphasize that they were dead. just one last nice picture of a loved one before they were buried.

Well, you may have gotten a pretty bizarre impression of me... I don't usually look anything like that. :) Then again, how I look seems to completely change every 6 months or so... so I guess there is no one way in which I "usually look".

I was expecting that the Joker would be second only to Sarah Palin in popularity this year, but I didn't go to a very big party, so I didn't see either (well, except for one Joker sticking his head out of a car to yell at us while we were on our way to the party). I did see a John and Cindy McCain drive past us though - well, the guy had tied a cardboard cutout of John McCain in front of him, so it was pretty obvious what he was, but the girl who was driving the car didn't appear to have a costume, though she looked fairly Cindy McCain-like.

On Halloween night, I saw lots of Jokers, and high-fived some of them who were wandering around the streets. The night after halloween, (Sat eve) I went to a party and there were two of us who showed up as the Joker. But there were 3 Sarah Palin's, I think :)
