V for Vendetta
Mar. 20th, 2006 03:05 amWell, it's no Matrix. But then again, the Wachowski's didn't actually direct it, they just wrote the script so all is forgiven. My two favorite books in high school were 1984 and Count of Monte Cristo (still my favorite fiction, if I don't include any Ayn Rand). It was awesome to see them combined together so seamlessly into one movie! And hairfree Natalie Portman I could watch for hours. ;)

geheimnisnacht mentioned on the way over that he heard Larry Wachowski recently had a sex change. I've been trying to confirm whether this is true, and it seems like at least a good possibility, but the closest I could find was this Rolling Stones article on him. Very interesting; I hadn't realized how into the BDSM scene he was... I should have known, after what a stellar job he did on the movie Bound! The Stones article (dated a couple days ago) discusses his crossdressing which seems to have escalated more and more, and speculation about hormones he might be taking, as well as the transfer deed to his new house referring to him (her?) as "Laurenca Wachowski," but other than that no official confirmation. He still may be pre or post op, it's anybody's guess. And from the sound of it, he's trying to stay as far out of the limelight as possible.
